I have been photographing families for over eight years now! Wow! That’s a long time! My first year in business is when I started offering Mini Sessions and they became a big hit. With that being said, I have a weather of knowledge and experience on how to capture a family within a limited time frame. Mini sessions are perfect for busy families that love beautiful photos without the commitment of a more lengthy photo session. 2. Bay Area Backdrops – the list is a mile long!
The Bay Area offers a wide variety of incredible natural landscapes. Whether you are wanting the vibrant blooms of spring or the stunning coastal views, this place as everything. With spring mini sessions, I choose a location and you just show up. The wildflowers in Walnut Creek, CA bloom between February and May every year with beautiful purple lupines, orange poppies and yellow mustard flowers. Because the flowers bloom at different times each year (hello unpredicable weather:)), my mini sessions dates will be scheduled around that time frame.
3. Guidance on How to Pose
Something I hear often from families is “we’re very awkward in front of the camera.” Hey! That’s ok because that’s where my job comes into play! In fact, a lot of us feel uncomfortable and unnatural in front of the camera. Let’s face it, it’s not like we’re doing this every day. So don’t feel bad — I will help! I will often set you up in a posed position and then photograph the unfold. What does that mean? Well I’ll have you stand together and then have you interact with each other by playing, kissing and swinging your kids. The possibilities are endless and make it your own! I always tell families to SMILE through it all. If your kids are crying, just keep smiling. Smile at your spouse! Smile at the ground! JUST SMILE! I promise the end result will be amazing!

Styling plays a vital role in making your photos stand out! The way a family is presented visually can greatly enhance the overall final images. As your photograph, it’s my job to help guide you with what to wear and what not to hear. I have created a styling guide – seen here – that will help you with styling your family from head to toe for your family session!
