There are so many amazing locations for family sessions in the Bay Area but there is nothing more intimate than being in your own home. As a Bay Area family photographer, I find myself on the hunt for new locations each year but being welcomed into a families home, is unmatched. Home is where love grows — where babies take their first steps, first birthday parties, first day of school and memories are woven into the fabric of the walls. As a Bay Area family photographer, I have had the privilege of being invited into these sacred spaces and immortalizing moments that tell the unique story of each family. From cuddles on the couch to kitchen giggles, every frame reflects the love and bond shared within the household.
Being in a family’s home provides a level of comfort that cannot be matched in any other location. Families naturally let their guard down, which creates a relaxed environment where they can be their true selves. Kids often run around excitedly showing me their bedrooms and toys. They are always just so incredibly excited that I am there! Because of this ease it allows for authentic emotions to shine… lots of giggles, smiles, tender moments and play interactions.
Families often put their heart and soul into decorating and styling their homes, make it an extension of their personality. When photographing families in the Bay Area in their own homes, I get to incorporate these personal touches into the images. Whether it’s the color palette of living room or nursery filled with sweet accents, these elements add depth and character to the photos, making them all the more special.
Being a Bay Area family photographer has allowed me to witness the magic of a families dynamic in their own home. Because of the comfort, intimacy and personal touch of these in-home sessions, it allows for authentic photos to be born. I am humbled and grateful each and every time a family invites me into their home to document a special memory. Whether it’s a newborn baby, maternity session or first birthday party, each family has a unique story that I have the privilege of telling.
